Assistant Professor of Biology
Brandi Baros is a microbiologist who teaches courses in the allied-health curriculum as well as the Science curriculum. She co-advises the Honors Program with Dr. Nash. She advises students pursuing degrees in the biological sciences, and is a Pre-Health advisor for students seeking to pursue medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant programs, optometry, dentistry, and chiropractic.
Dr. Baros teaches microbiology and other biology courses, and runs a research lab investigating food pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli. She has taught here at Penn State Shenango since 2008, and previously taught at Allegheny College.
Dr. Baros also puts her science expertise to work as a hazardous materials response technician, and is a member of the Crawford County Hazmat Team and the Mercer County Local Emergency Planning Committee. When she's not doing science, she also enjoys gardening, baking, swimming, playing board games, and hiking.
