Senior Instructor in Biology
Shirley Dillaman received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Slippery Rock College in 1969 and her Master’s degree in Higher Ed./Biology in 1975, from Cleveland State University. She has nearly forty years of teaching experience, the last 28 years of which have been at Penn State Shenango. Shirley teaches Anatomy and Physiology. Most of her students are planning a career in nursing or physical therapy. To assist her students to learn Anatomy, she has produced “An Interactive Computer Tutorial on Human Musculature.” She has also produced A Photographic Atlas for Human Anatomy that is presently being used by all of the Anatomy Laboratory classes at Penn State Shenango. Shirley has received Shenango’s “Teacher of the Year Award” three times and her evaluations by students over the years have been outstanding. She is active on the campus’ United Way Campaign and has volunteered many hours over the years to teach summer courses for elementary and high school students.
