Instructor in Nursing
Maureen J. Dunn is a Nursing Instructor for The Pennsylvania State University, Shenango Campus for 3 years. Maureen teaches Nursing Management, Health Concepts for Adults with Complex Health Care Needs, Community Health Nursing and the Integrated Concepts in Nursing Practice.
Maureen worked as a Registered Nurse for 16 years at Sharon Regional Health System. While there, she has worked as a staff nurse in Intensive/Coronary Care Unit, Staff Development Coordinator, Director of Education Services and an Instructor at Sharon Regional Health System, School of Nursing. At Sharon Regional Health System School of Nursing, Maureen taught classes in Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing and Critical Care Nursing.
While working at The Pennsylvania State University, Shenango Campus, Maureen has mentored new adjunct faculty, assisted in writing an instructor manual for the textbook, Nursing Informatics and the Foundation of Knowledge. She chairman for the Research and Faculty Development committee (2009-2011) who organized a teaching conference at the Shenango Campus called, Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century Classroom. Maureen has also worked with World Campus, an online program for the University, regarding the continuing education for the Medical Surgical Component of the School of Nursing Portal as well as taught numerous classes for World Campus.
Maureen is a lifelong resident of the Shenango Valley. She is married with two children. She is actively involved in her children’s schools and church. Maureen enjoys exercising, bike riding, traveling and reading anything from JK Rowling to James Patterson.
