Steven Brewer to Speak on Drug and Alcohol Related Police Corruption

Sharon, Pa.—Penn State Shenango continues its 2012-2013 Faculty Lecture Series with Penn State Assistant Professor of Administration of Justice Steven Brewer Jr., who will speak on Drug and Alcohol Related Police Corruption, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 3. The lecture will take place on campus in Sharon Hall room 105, located on Penn Avenue in downtown Sharon, Pa. The event is free and open to the public.


Brewer's teaching experience and special interests include corrections, criminology, research methods and qualitative and quantitative analysis. He has presented numerous papers at conferences and workshops specifically on assessing bullying in both school systems and prison environments.


Formerly a teaching associate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Brewer was hired at Penn State to teach introductory and upper level courses of the baccalaureate degree in Administration of Justice program. In addition to teaching, he is also the adviser for the campus' Administration of Justice Club.


In addition to teaching, Brewer has worked as a behavioral counselor at the Community Guidance Center in Indiana, Pa., and at Foreign Language Services in Lock Haven, Pa.


Brewer completed his undergraduate studies at Lock Haven University in criminal justice. He received both his master of art and doctoral degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in criminology.
