Business Program Requirements

Business Program Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Business is an upper-division, professionally-oriented business degree for students seeking general preparation in business. Our business degree combines classroom study of the foundational theories from the core business disciplines (e.g., management, marketing, finance, and logistics) with the opportunity to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting.

Students of our 18-credit options develop a specialty in a functional area of business. In addition, Penn State Shenango business students hone vital “soft skills” through active and collaborative projects in the classroom and participation in internships and other experiences with business professionals:

  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Contemporary computer skills
  • Leadership and group project management
  • Critical thinking skills

To be eligible for entrance into our Bachelor of Science in Business program, a student must have completed Math 22 or higher, as this is the program's Entrance to Major requirement. Students cannot proceed into the BA series of classes (300-400 level) without completing the Entrance to Major requirement.
