Penn State Shenango's VenturePointe, an incubator for start-up resources for both for-profit businesses and not-for-profit agencies, supported its first internship this past spring to immerse a Shenango campus student into the entrepreneurial incubation process at the eCenter@LindenPointe in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
There’s still an opportunity to take classes this summer at Penn State Shenango. The second six-week summer session begins June 28, and continues through Aug. 9.
Students of Penn State Shenango were honored at the campus’ 2017 Honors Convocation and Recognition Banquet for their outstanding academic and student leadership achievements and services. The recipients of this year’s Eric and Josephine Walker Award, Dennis W. Bartholomew Outstanding Adult Student Award, the Ann Wansack Award, as well as the Leonard R. Riforgiato Memorial Teaching Award and the Margaret Cunningham Foley Memorial Teaching Award, were also part of the program.

The National Science Foundation has joined in supporting Penn State’s goal of taking more of its discoveries to market by awarding Penn State a five-year, $500,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to establish the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partner’s TechCelerator, Happy Valley LaunchBox, and Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hubs.
The Penn State Shenango Drama Club will hold open auditions for “A Christmas Pudding,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, in the Penn State Shenango Auditorium, 147 Shenango Avenue, Sharon, Pennsylvania.
Penn State Shenango will hold its sixth annual Dr. Jane A. Williams Memorial 5K run/1.5 mile walk on Sept. 30, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Shenango campus located in downtown Sharon. The event is in honor of Williams, who was employed at the Shenango campus for 25 years before dying after a brief illness.
