New collaboration expands educational opportunities in Pennsylvania

Penn State’s Commonwealth Campuses and the state’s community colleges have announced a new collaboration aimed at expanding educational opportunities in Pennsylvania and removing barriers to degree completion among college students. The collaboration builds upon long-standing relationships between the campuses and the community colleges and a shared commitment to access and affordability in higher education.

Shenango professor earns national recognition as PTA education award recipient

Penn State Shenango Teaching Professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant program Jennifer Jewell has been named the 2024 Distinguished Educator in Physical Therapist Assistant Education Award recipient, the highest recognition that a faculty member in physical therapist assistant education can receive, at a ceremony held in Boston on Feb. 16.

Atterholt and Cruz to present ‘academic witnessing’ research at Feb. 12 webinar

Penn State Shenango's Roxanne Atterholt and Laura Cruz from Penn State’s Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present their work on how to encourage and support resiliency in higher education at a webinar on Feb. 12. They co-authored a paper, titled “Shock Waves: Academic Witnessing as Resiliency Practice in Higher Education,” on the topic that was published as feature article in the Journal of Faculty Development.

Penn State campuses celebrate, commemorate Black History Month

The last week of February 2024 still offers a few events across campuses for Black History Month, including at Penn State Brandywine, Harrisburg, Dickinson Law, Lehigh Valley, Shenango, and York. In addition, several exhibits are still available to visitors at Penn State University Park, Brandywine and Harrisburg.
