Penn State Shenango to hold auditions for holiday production

SHARON, Pa. -- Penn State Shenango will hold auditions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 for its holiday play “How the Grouch Saved Christmas,” which is an original musical to be directed by Jeanne Zingale, Penn State Shenango Drama Club advisor and instructor in theatre.

All who audition will be asked to perform a vocal selection from a familiar Christmas song, improvise a short scene as a child’s toy, and do a cold reading from the script. Call backs will be the following Saturday, if needed.

Participants should note that they will be photographed and videotaped as part of the audition process. Anyone under age 18 will need a parent or guardian present, along with written permission to take part in the audition/production.

Performances will be Dec. 4 (evening), and Dec. 5-6 (matinee).
