Shenango ranked in Top 20 in Washington Monthly's 'Best Bang for Buck' category

SHARON, Pa. — Penn State Shenango has been ranked in the Top 20 colleges and universities in the Northeast in the category of "Best Bang for the Buck," according to the most recent rankings conducted by Washington Monthly.

Among 402 schools included in the “Best Bang for the Buck” listing, the Shenango campus was ranked No. 16. Washington Monthly rated colleges based on various criteria, including the school's student loan default rate, graduation rate, number of Pell grants awarded to its students, and the net price of attending for all students.

In addition to rating schools which are doing the best job of helping non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices, Washington Monthly, which was established in 1969, also ranks institutions based on social mobility, research and civic engagement.
