Established in 1965, Penn State Shenango is a student-centered campus located on 13 acres set in downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania. It is the only urban campus among the Penn State Commonwealth campuses.
Shenango campus enrolls approximately 400 students and offers both associate and baccalaureate degree programs, plus the first two years of more than 275+ Penn State degrees. The intimate environment for learning and teaching is well suited to a student body nearly equally divided between traditional and nontraditional students. The faculty and staff are always willing to go the extra mile to help.
Shenango campus awards more than $700,000 in scholarships annually. Students who enroll at Penn State Shenango with a 3.0 grade-point average are guaranteed a $3,000 scholarship.
Among its amenities, the Shenango campus provides complete internet service for all students including email, WiFi, Web space, e-Portfolio space, and computer labs. Professional tutoring services are available for free at the campus' Shenango Academic Resource Center (SHARC) located in the Lartz Memorial Library. The campus also has a full-time counselor and disability contact liaison, as well as a career counselor who is an expert in preparing students for their futures.
The Shenango campus boasts many student clubs and organizations, as well as activities and entertainment throughout the year in its modern Great Hall, and has a state-of-the-art Fitness Center. Close to campus are many shops and restaurants who provide discounts to Penn State students.
