$3,000 for a 3.0 GPA Scholarship Program

Earn a Penn State degree at an incredible value

If you are a high school senior with a Penn State's calculated 3.0 grade-point average, you can earn at least $3,000 in scholarships for your first year at Penn State Shenango.

We call this scholarship program "$3,000 for a 3.0 GPA" and now there are more opportunities than ever to cash in with a new tiered structure that is inclusive of more GPAs, and more lucrative for high achieving students.

GPA-driven scholarship tiers

  Grade-point average Scholarship
Inspire tier 2.80 $2,000
Discover tier 3.00 $3,000
Innovation tier 3.25 $4,000
Nittany tier 3.50 $5,000

Renewable for four years

Plus, if you maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average while you’re here, you can renew your scholarship for up to four years of study at our campus.

Scholarship program eligibility

There’s no extra application, no required SAT or ACT score, and no additional hassle. Just apply to Penn State Shenango on the Admissions website by November 30 and complete your Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1 for maximum consideration.

Start your Penn State story

We're excited you're ready to become a Penn Stater! Now's the perfect time to get started on your application. If you need help getting started, check out our guides to apply for first-year, transfer, or adult students.

Apply to Penn State >

If your Penn State calculated GPA is at or above one of our tiers, you’re automatically awarded your renewable scholarship(s) to Penn State Shenango. If you are admitted after June 30, scholarships are awarded if funding is still available.

Please note: All Penn State scholarships require full-time enrollment (12 credits per semester) and may be prorated in the case of less than full-time enrollment depending on funding availability. Incoming students must also be officially admitted by June 1 to guarantee eligibility.

Continuing students

You must schedule your fall courses and submit your FAFSA before May 1 to guarantee consideration.

Transfer and adult students

Not a high school senior? Not a freshman? Not a problem! Transfer students with a cumulative college GPA above 2.80 and adult learners with a high school grade point average above 2.80 are also eligible for this scholarship program.

Residents of Pennsylvania border states can earn even more

Students in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia can save $6,000 for their first two years and $7,000 during their last two years at Penn State Shenango. Students who transfer for their junior year may be considered for an award of $6,500 a year for three years to help them earn a bachelor’s degree.
