Business development specialist

Become a company cornerstone as a leader that identifies new business opportunities. You will identify new markets, partnerships, methods, or product offerings with the expectation of increasing company revenue.

Sales and account management

In this field, you will manage client accounts and build fruitful relationships. You can expect to generate sales activities, report on transactions, and set company sales goals.

Marketing, social media, and advertising management

Develop the skills to understand the needs and wants of customers, design distribution strategies, research market data, and coordinate marketing programs across business units.

Purchasing manager

Oversee supplier relations and the transportation details for companies in a variety of industries. In this job, you will evaluate the company brand and target audience to determine what products to order and monitor delivery times.

What to expect in the Business Management and Marketing major option

Penn State’s Bachelor of Science in Business is a professionally-oriented business degree program that combines the core business disciplines of management, marketing, finance, and supply chain management, with applied study in a practical setting. This Business degree offers a range of “options” or areas of concentration, such as Management and Marketing.

The Management and Marketing concentration’s dual emphasis allows students to select courses in both disciplines as a foundation for leading small businesses or units of large organizations.

Management

In an environment that is constantly changing, one thing that remains the same is the need for creative and efficient management. Our business program will prepare you to:

Marketing

Through the choice of an 18-credit Management and Marketing concentration, you will specialize in this business sector through specific coursework and internship experiences. Shenango’s Business major also offers areas of concentration in Accounting and a customizable Individualized option.
