Penn State University police officers are certified by the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission. They have the same authority as municipal police officers in Pennsylvania and are required to have the same basic police training, first aid training, and annual in-service training required for municipal police.

Police Escort Service
For students, staff, and faculty working late on campus, University Police can escort you to vehicles, and an officer will be glad to ensure that you arrive safely at your on-campus destination.

All Shenango police officers are certified in first aid for medical emergencies.
