Biography
Dr. Travis Milburn joined the faculty at Penn State Shenango in 2019. His research centers around deepening our understanding of social responses to crime and wrongdoing, especially crimes against the environment, the use of technology as a response to crime, and exploring the nexus between criminal justice and public health. Outside of academia, he previously worked for the US Secret Service.
He has taught a variety of courses in criminology and criminal justice since 2012, including introduction to criminology, the criminal justice system, corrections, police & society, sociology of murder, organized crime, criminal justice policy, cybercrime, and white-collar crime.
Dr. Milburn is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
