The Penn State Shenango Advisory Board and the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society have announced the creation of an Open Doors Scholarship at Penn State Shenango. The scholarship is part of the University’s Complete Penn State initiative targeting students facing financial hardships and risk of not completing a degree program.
Sharon Regional Medical Center has teamed up with Penn State Shenango’s Athletics program to provide comprehensive athletic training services for the campus’ new men’s basketball team and women’s volleyball team. This past fall, through Sharon Regional’s Sports Medicine program, certified athletic trainer Deb Bornes began working with the Penn State Shenango Lions to provide professional services during the Lions’ home practices and games.

The College Club of Sharon and the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society have announced the creation of a $47,000 Open Doors Scholarship at Penn State Shenango, which offered a 2:1 match on endowment principal from the University. The scholarship is part of the University’s Pathway to Success Summer Start (PaSSS) program to help students overcome the obstacles that can hinder their path to graduation.
Penn State Shenango and the Sharon City School District are partnering to provide a unique experience for the fourth annual STEAM Day on Nov. 19. New to the event this year is the reveal of Canstruction, a canned food structure designed and built by sixth-grade students from Sharon and engineering students at the Shenango campus.
