Penn State Professor and Laureate Rebecca Strzelec will be presenting a talk, “Art + Engineering = Creative Problem Solving,” at 12:10 p.m. on March 22, in Penn State Shenango’s Sharon Hall, room 105. This event is free and open to the public.
Penn State Shenango is gearing up for its second Earth Fest Upcycled Art Contest, which is being held in conjunction with Earth Day 2017 on April 8. The event was designed to inspire elementary and middle school students to create treasure from “trash.”
While many students across the country descend on traditional spring break hot spots this month, a small group of students from Penn State Shenango will be deep in the forests of Belize making a direct impact on the lives of local residents as part of their alternative spring break trip.
The Penn State Shenango Drama Club and its partner, Lawrence Mercer ATHENA, will present their production of the award-winning play “The Vagina Monologues” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 and 18 in the Penn State Shenango Auditorium. The local production of "The Vagina Monologues" is part of the V-Day global movement to end violence against women and girls.

Every girl has a dream of what she wants to be when she grows up — a dancer, teacher, nurse, doctor. Becoming a stunt woman, however, never crossed Ashley Balas’ young mind, although from the time she could walk, she was energetic, and, according to her mother, “ready to take on the world.”
Paul Chadderton, retired owner and CEO of Chadderton Trucking Inc., and emeritus member of the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board, has committed to give $100,000 to Penn State Shenango to create the Paul and Eleanor Chadderton Trustee Scholarship.
