Penn State Shenango celebrated the class of 2023 at a commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6, in the Auditorium. The graduates and guests heard from alumna Carolyn Weiss of The Pension Boards, who gave the keynote address, as well as graduating student Selina Beach and Penn State Shenango Alumni Society Vice President Mandy Stingis. Prior to the celebration, a private nursing pinning ceremony was hosted by faculty to welcome graduates to the profession.

A new research program for students will be launched this coming fall: The Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses Undergraduate Student Research Fund aims to support student-led projects in different fields. Participants will acquire hands-on experience in research, scholarship, and artistic efforts. They will be responsible for creating their own research problems, study proposals, methodologies, and presenting their findings.

Beginning in May, Penn State Shenango will offer three summer sessions to current Penn State students, those home for the summer attending another college, or high school students looking to get ahead. These sessions include day, evening, hybrid and online courses.
The Shenango vs. Cancer basketball game will take place Friday, March 24, in the Hickory High School Gymnasium to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and The Dr. Edgardo Lob Memorial Cancer Care Fund through UPMC Horizon in Greenville.
