SHARON, Pa. — Penn State Shenango and Penn State Shenango Athletics congratulate the student-athletes recognized with high academic honors during the 2024-25 school year.

This year, 29 Shenango student-athletes earned Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Academic All-American status, requiring a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, nine student-athletes were named United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Academic All-Americans, earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher. In order to receive a nomination, students must have 24 completed credits at the conclusion of their respective seasons.

"As with last year, I cannot say enough or be prouder of your young men and women,” said Athletic Director Brandon Padgett. “We managed to have a higher number of academic All-American student-athletes this year than we had last year, and this is a testament to the focus and importance that we continue to put on academic performance, and the willingness of our student-athletes to buy into what we are asking them to do."

Athletics staff and coaches have implemented mandated study tables for athletes each week, and work with the Penn State Shenango Academic Resource Center (SHARC) to pair athletes with professional and peer tutors as needed.

The collective departmental GPA across all athletic teams increased from 3.128 in the fall 2024 to 3.224 in the spring 2025 semester.
