Penn State Shenango is gearing up for its second Earth Fest Upcycled Art Contest, which is being held in conjunction with Earth Day 2017 on April 8. The event was designed to inspire elementary and middle school students to create treasure from “trash.”
Penn State Professor and Laureate Rebecca Strzelec will be presenting a talk, “Art + Engineering = Creative Problem Solving,” at 12:10 p.m. on March 22, in Penn State Shenango’s Sharon Hall, room 105. This event is free and open to the public.
Now in its eighth year, Penn State Shenango’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Club’s Hustle for Muscle 5K Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. on April 1. The annual event, which is held on a family-friendly, fast course around the Shenango campus and downtown Sharon, raises funds to support the PTA Club’s mission and program.
Penn State Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour will be the guest speaker at the Penn State Shenango 2017 Meet and Greet Tailgate Party on Wednesday, April 12. The event, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society.
Adults and children of all ages are invited to join the fun as Penn State Shenango holds Earth Fest 2017 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at the campus in downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania. The event, which offers free admission and is open to the public, will include live music and entertainment, children’s activities, a local artists’ market, Penn State Berkey Creamery Ice Cream, and information from sustainability-minded local organizations and businesses.
