Coronavirus and Campus Information

This site provides access to the most up-to-date information on Penn State's response to the coronavirus, as well as related campus-specific information.

KeepLearning.psu.edu: This dedicated website for students offers support for remote learning, resources for academic advising and tutoring, and contact information.

KeepTeaching.psu.edu: Course instructors visiting the site will find information on effective teaching, technology training, webinars and support as they update and teach their courses for the upcoming semester. The site also features a newly created guide for instructors specifically designed for preparing and teaching.

VirusInfo.psu.edu: Penn State’s main website with links to the latest news and answers to frequently asked questions about the University’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The site’s resources page also contains links to dedicated resources for students and employees;  information on testing, contact tracing and monitoring for the campus community; classroom and office guidance; and policies on masking and social distancing.

Penn State COVID-19 Compact: Before returning to campus, students are asked to verify that they understand the behavioral requirements and guidelines, via LionPath.

Masking and testing

Mar. 22, 2022 — Penn State is adjusting its COVID-19 mitigation requirements related to face masks and required testing. Beginning Wednesday, March 23, face masks will be optional in all indoor spaces, except in areas where the law requires them to be worn, like on public transportation. Starting March 26, Penn State will pause its required COVID-19 testing for students, faculty and staff.

Employees at Penn State who work in their own individual offices may request that visitors wear masks while in their private offices, and faculty may request that their students wear masks during classes. The University asks that community members cooperate respectfully with these requests.

Student tests will continue to be distributed by the student health center or designated office. Students can check online to learn how to obtain and complete a test on their campus. Students are no longer able to order PCR tests online via Vault Health and are encouraged to use test kits they previously ordered. Students who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should not go to classes or other activities and seek out symptomatic testing through a University or local health care provider. Free, at-home rapid tests provided by the U.S. government are available to be ordered online at covidtests.gov.

Faculty and staff may seek testing through their health care provider or other local COVID-19 testing options. Employees are no longer able to order PCR tests online from Vault Health and are encouraged to use test kits they previously ordered or obtain free, at-home rapid tests from the U.S. government by ordering them online at covidtests.gov. Symptomatic employees should stay home from work and are advised to schedule an appointment with their health care provider for testing.

Please note: Penn State does not provide COVID-19 testing to the general public.

Proof of vaccination

Jan. 5, 2022 — Penn State is strongly encouraging students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated, including boosters, against COVID-19 and to share their vaccination status with the University after they receive their final dose.

Employees and World Campus students can now provide their vaccination status to the University using SalesForce Health Cloud, a secure online platform for collecting health data. A step-by-step guide to help the University’s employees with submission is available as well via the COVID-19 Vaccination webpage on the Return to Work website.

Students can upload their vaccination records through myUHS.

The latest vaccination information for University community members is available on Penn State’s virus information website.
