Penn State Shenango will hold an Adult and Transfer Open House between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18. Stop by the Admissions Office in Lecture Hall room 225 located on Shenango Avenue in downtown Sharon. No appointment necessary.
Students of Penn State Shenango were honored at the campus’ 2017 Honors Convocation and Recognition Banquet for their outstanding academic and student leadership achievements and services. The recipients of this year’s Eric and Josephine Walker Award, Dennis W. Bartholomew Outstanding Adult Student Award, the Ann Wansack Award, as well as the Leonard R. Riforgiato Memorial Teaching Award and the Margaret Cunningham Foley Memorial Teaching Award, were also part of the program.
There’s still an opportunity to take classes this summer at Penn State Shenango. The second six-week summer session begins June 28, and continues through Aug. 9.
Penn State Shenango's VenturePointe, an incubator for start-up resources for both for-profit businesses and not-for-profit agencies, supported its first internship this past spring to immerse a Shenango campus student into the entrepreneurial incubation process at the eCenter@LindenPointe in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
Penn State Shenango will hold its 2017 Spring Commencement Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on May 6, in the Shenango campus auditorium with a reception immediately following. This year's commencement address speaker is Kathy Mastrian, associate professor and program coordinator in nursing at Penn State Shenango.
This spring Penn State expects to award 13,894 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing 226 associate, 11,435 baccalaureate, 1,590 master’s, 262 law, 244 doctoral and 137 medical degrees. Penn State Shenango’s popular STEM Camp will again be offered this summer to middle school-aged children. The weeklong day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 19-23.
