It was West Middlesex High School students who came out on top in Penn State Shenango’s inaugural marketing competition on Saturday, April 2, held in the campus’ auditorium. Lakeview High School was close behind in second place, and Hickory High School students took third. The event was held in conjunction with the Greater Sharon Associates (GSA) and its Downtown Sharon Spring Fling. High school teams of two to five students were required to create and present an integrated marketing plan for this year’s Sharon Spring Fling.
Penn State Shenango Instructor in Administration of Justice Barie Goetz will discuss the investigation and trial of former death row inmate David Camm at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at the Community Library of the Shenango Valley in downtown Sharon, Pa. The event is free and open to the public.
Penn State Shenango will hold its 2016 spring commencement ceremony at 7:30 p.m. May 6 in the Shenango campus auditorium with a reception immediately following. Jo Anne Carrick, campus director, will confer baccalaureate and associate degrees on the graduating students.

Allison M. Engstrom has been hired as Penn State Shenango’s new director of development and alumni relations, effective June 20. Engstrom comes to the Shenango campus from Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, where she held the position of development coordinator for special events and annual fund.
Penn State Shenango has been named the recipient of this year's Community Counseling Center of Mercer County's DeWitt Boosel Community Service Award. The Shenango campus received the award for its successful partnership and collaboration with the Community Counseling Center for more than a decade
The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society will host its third annual Cornhole Tournament July 30 at Quaker Steak and Lube in downtown Sharon. The event’s proceeds and a portion of food sales from 3 to 9 p.m. will go to Penn State Shenango student scholarships.
