Penn State Shenango announces production of “The Vagina Monologues”

The Penn State Shenango Drama Club and its partner Lawrence Mercer ATHENA will present their production of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play “The Vagina Monologues” at 7:30 p.m. on February 17 and 18 in the Penn State Shenango Auditorium. The local production is part of the V-Day global movement to end violence against women and girls, and AWARE of Mercer County is the direct beneficiary of all ticket sales. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.

Every girl has a dream of what she wants to be when she grows up — a dancer, teacher, nurse, doctor. Becoming a stunt woman, however, never crossed Ashley Balas’ young mind, although from the time she could walk, she was energetic, and, according to her mother, “ready to take on the world.”

Penn State announces fall 2016 commencement events and speakers

This fall approximately 5,247 Penn State students will receive their diplomas. University-wide there will be 252 associate, 3,936 baccalaureate, 762 master's, 11 law and 286 doctoral degrees awarded. Shenango fall commencement to be held on Dec. 17

Penn State Shenango will hold its 2016 fall commencement ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, in the Shenango campus auditorium, with a reception immediately following. Jo Anne Carrick, campus director, will confer baccalaureate and associate degrees on 37 graduating students. William R. Kiefer, president and CEO of A. Stucki Co., will be the guest speaker.
