Shenango announces launch of women’s basketball

Penn State Shenango welcomes Coach Daniel Johnson to lead women’s basketball program starting in 2021. To enhance campus life and activities, the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society is largely funding the program through a $20,000 gift.

9/8: Preliminary weekend COVID-19 testing results posted on dashboard

Penn State has updated its public COVID-19 dashboard with on-demand testing and random screening results from the period of Sept. 4-6, as well as new results from the prior week. These numbers are evolving as it can take up to 48 hours for test results to be received, which then are validated and uploaded.

Penn State has updated its public COVID-19 dashboard with the University's on-demand testing and random testing results from the period of Sept. 11-14, as well as new University testing results from the prior week. These numbers are evolving as many test results are still pending, which will then be validated and uploaded.

9/18: Penn State COVID-19 Dashboard updated

Penn State released its preliminary coronavirus testing results for the period of Sept. 11 to 17 on its COVID-19 dashboard today (Sept. 18). Among students tested at the University Park campus whose test results have been received, Penn State received 306 positive results from its on-demand testing and 14 positive results from its random testing program.

Shenango’s ‘$3,000 for a 3.0 GPA’ scholarship program adds grade-point average tiers to award higher achieving students scholarships for their academic achievements, totaling up to $20,000 over four years while enrolled at the Shenango campus.

Annual 'Stamp Out Stigma' event to highlight grief and loss

The seventh annual Stamp Out Stigma mental health awareness event is addressing grief and loss during a virtual program at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 14. The event, hosted by Penn State Shenango, is designed to bring important information, awareness and personal stories about the importance of caring for one’s mental health to the forefront of the community.

PSUAC postpones the start of basketball to spring semester 2021

Penn State Commonwealth Campuses Beaver, Brandywine, DuBois, Fayette, Greater Allegheny, Hazleton, Lehigh Valley, Mont Alto, New Kensington, Scranton, Schuylkill, Shenango, Wilkes-Barre and York will follow national movement among small conferences and push basketball competition to the spring semester due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Spring 2021 plans announced, giving students, faculty and staff time to prepare

Plans for Penn State’s Spring 2021 semester, announced Oct. 4, include a later start in January; continuation of the current flexible instructional modes, including in-person; the elimination of spring break; and completion of instruction for all undergraduate and graduate students by April 30. The University will maintain its observance of Martin Luther King Jr. day on Jan. 18 for students and faculty, when no classes will be held and Dr. King’s legacy will be celebrated through a number of virtual events.
